Embassies of the EU member states, for its enlargement, the embassies of the UN member states each proposed three authors with a quote as a possible representative for your country to the jury. The quotes stand for humanity and international understanding. Together, they represent the cultural richness and diversity of the world's states.
The jury of representatives of science, culture, business and politics selects from the submitted proposals in a majority procedure the quote that represents the respective country on the PATH OF VISIONARIES in Berlin's Friedrichstraße. In the spirit of the idea of the project, the jury pays attention to a balance between the choice of persons and the quotations.
Members of the Jury PATH OF VISIONARIES OF THE WORLD:
• Representatives of national and international institutions as well as people who have distinguished themselves through their commitment for the international dialogue
• Representatives of important institutions settled along the Berliner Friedrichstrasse
• Representatives of the cultural, political and economical fields in Berlin, especially in the districts concerned: Berlin Mitte and Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg

ABOUT THE PERSON OF THE REPRESENTATIVE:
The selection criteria apply to the suggestions of the embassies.
• The representative as well as the quotation stand for the values, culture and identity of his/her country.
• The representative comes preferably from the fields of science, culture, economy or sports. Personalities who primarily played or still play a religious or political role cannot be suggested. Country founders are an exception.
• The representative is widely known in his/her national culture's sphere.
• Quotations from fairy tales or myths are well accepted.
• After checking the conditions and possibilities previously mentioned, a passage from the national anthem or proverbs can also be proposed.
THE QUOTATION:
• represents the author's philosophy of life
• illustrates what central theme the author's vision carries
• conveys a universally understandable meaning
• promotes harmony between the peoples
• encourages respect, conciliation and integration
• should not be longer than 180 characters (shorter texts are welcome)
